Egy nap, amikor jó zalaegerszeginek lenni

Tudom, hogy az egész város várta, hogy megverjük a Falcot – és megcsináltuk! Ez a győzelem nagy lökést adott a csapatönbizalmának. Mindenki tudja, hogy a Falco jó együttes, és úgy gondolom sok mindent elmond a mi csapatunkról, hogy egy szép győzelmet arattunk a bajnok ellen. De mint ahogyan mindig is hangsúlyoztam: jók leszünk és messze juthatunk el, ha keményen edzünk a tréningeken és hallgatunk az edzőinkre. A legfontosabb dolog,hogy ez csak egy győzelem volt, és már a szombati Sopron elleni csatára kell készülni. Remélem nagyon sok szurkoló kijön a szombati meccsre,mert úgy vélem, hogy jelenlétük sok plusz energiát és késztetést nyújtott legutóbb, ami által nyerni tudtunk a Falco ellen. Szükségem volt a bíztatásukra, mivel néhány sérüléssel bajlódtam: először a bokámmal majd azágyékommal, de amikor az öltözőből kilépve érzékeltem a légkört, rögtön megfeledkeztem a fájdalmaimról. Az edzőnk is remek támogatást nyújtott, így amikor játékra került a sor, már csak nekem kellett legyőznöm a fájdalmat.

Noha a legutóbbi bejegyzésemben aztígértem, hogy a pályára fogok koncentrálni és nem a szurkolókra, de amint a játék beindult, túl élénkké váltam ahhoz, hogy ne figyeljek rájuk. Úgy hiszem, az egész csapatot éltette a közönség energiája. A mecs után a nézők közé szerettem volna ugrani – nagyszerű volt a győzelem után körbe menni és találkozni (pacsizni) mindenkivel. Tudom, hogy ez csak egy kis dolog, de még soha nem volt ilyenben részem és nagyon bírtam. Valaki majdnem levette rólam a mezt, amikor egy picit a nézőtérre mentem. Egy kicsit megijedtem mennyit kellett volna fizetnem egy újért! Később a hasonlómérkőzések egyikén a nézők közé ugrom – remélem nem lesz ebből afférom a klubbal. Szóval nagyon jó volt!

Más téma: szerda reggel nagyon izgatottan keltem fel, mivel új elnököt választottunk. Ahogy csapattársam Srdjan mondta:jó hogy végre afro-amerikai elnökünk van, de szerintem még jobb, hogy valaki más, mint George Bush. A barátaim nagy örömmel hívtak reggel 5.30-kor az új miniszterelnökünk kapcsán. Egész nap fel voltam pörögve, alig bírtam várni a meccsig. Máskor mindig pihenek és lazítok, de szerdán képtelen voltam erre,túltengett bennem az energia. Úgy gondolom ez a meccs alatt ki is jött belőlem.

Well its a good day to be a Zalaegerszegan.

I know that entire city was looking forward to us beating Falco and we did it. It was a big game for the team's confidence. Everybody knows that Falco is a good team, and I think it said alot about our team that we were able to get a good victory against the Champions. But like I always said, we believe that we can be really good and if we continue to work hard in practice and pay attention to our coaches I think we can go a long way. The most important thing for us to remember is that this is just one victory, and we have to get prepared for Sopron on Saturday. I hope to see all the fans out at the game on Saturday, because I think the fans gave us the extra energy that we needed in order to win the game against Falco. I needed it, because I had some small injuries that were bothering, first my ankle and then my groin but when I came out to play and seen the atmosphere I forgot all about it. Our trainer did a good job of treating it for me and then it was just up to me to deal with the pain.

I know that on my last blog I said that I try to focus on the court and not get too caught up in the fans, but once the game got going I was too excited not to pay attention to the fans. I thought the entire team fed off the crowds energy. After the game I wanted to jump in the crowd with all the fans, because its so much fun to walk around and meet everybody after you win a game. I know its a small thing, but I never did anything like that and I really like it. Somebody almost took my jersey off when I went into the crowd a little bit after the game. I wonder how much I would have had to pay for a new one? One of these games Im just going to jump in the crowd, hopefully I dont get in trouble by the club. It was great!

On another note, I woke up very excited on Wednesday morning, because we have a new president. Like my teammate Srdjan said to me after the game, it is good that we finally have an African American president, but even better that we have somebody there other than George Bush. People were calling me at 530 in the morning from home, really excited about our new president. I was excited all through the day, I could not wait to play the game. I always take a nap everyday but I was not able to take one on Wednesday because I had too much excitement in my body. I think the excitement came out during the game.
